Actually, I've noticed these across a number of domains:
GET /MSOffice/cltreq.asp?UL=1&ACT=4&BUILD=2614&STRMVER=4&CAPREQ=0 HTTP/1.1
GET /MSOffice/cltreq.asp?UL=1&ACT=4&BUILD=2614&STRMVER=4&CAPREQ=0 HTTP/1.1
Both of those occurred in the last few hours, on two separate domains, from two separate source IPs.
I've checked some other servers, and they appear to be happening across the board.
Googling for cltreq.asp I found a thread in webmasterworld that mentions a M$ discussion piece of shaftware checking for a M$ extension on the server... obviously we don't run those.
But it does appear that on ONE of our servers, these "probes" for want of a better phrase, are hanging the ASP engine.
What can I do to fix this problem? I can deal with regular ASP by 301 them - but I have plenty of sites on each server, and how do I know if this won't start hanging the ASP engine on all servers at some point?
thanks
Greg Hewitt-Long
