I've seen the posts on IdentLookups, but the connection seems to be quick enough. (BTW, my IdentLookups line is commented out in proftpd.conf) I've also seen the posts about passive mode, but the client does enter passive mode on file lists. The server is lightly loaded (memory, cpu, disk), and using top, I see the in.proftpd pid, but it never uses much CPU, even while a transfer is taking place. I'm pretty new at this, so any guidance on what to look at next would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Douglas M. Kline douglaskline@xxxxxxx
