Question:
heard several conflicting answers and wanted to know how to remove.pkg
installations.
Also what if you install a third party patch ( like from pkgmaster) then
upgrade the raq4
with the newest cobalt pkg. will that work or break my raq4?
If the package was designed to be removed, there should be a file in the
directory /var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers, the script there should remove the
package. You run this script from a shell.
Most packages from pkgmaster can be removed. Most packages from pkgmaster
to fix the system can have Official patch packages installed over them,
check his site for details.
Most packages from Solarspeed state they can not be uninstalled. Check
with his site as to whether any Official patch package can work with his.
The only real answer is to ask the person that provided the third party
package you installed as to their package.
