Man...I really need to take an writing course...I wasn't objecting to
control panels, simply that the vendors of those and the accounting
software seem to think they own part of my operation.

But, I think you're right about "what the market will bear".

Given a choice between easy and correct, I'd opt for a gui that's easy to
use that is also correct from a technical viewpoint.

My customers also seem to want a GUI that they can use...they don't seem
to be thrilled about having no control but being able(forced) to call the
computer guru to change their settings.

One of our local ISP's never had a GUI, he and his staff were very smart
folks, really understood system administration, DNS, all that good stuff.

He's gone out of business twice now...seems like his customers either
don't want to wait for him to set up a mailing list, add email accounts,
etc...do they leave and go to a provider that offers them that feature.
