Thanks for your replies folks:
The Situation was that I have some auctions running on eBay but I host the
pictures on my own Raq. So someone decided to go onto eBay and click on ALL
my auctions, which were BUY IT NOWS and essentially bought them all - then
disappeared.
I thought to myself, well seeing as Im hosting the graphics, what does the
log file say
Thanks for the ideas where to look but eventually I went to
/home/sites/sitex/logs/web.log
and behold - I found around the time I wanted
123.123.123.123 - - [16/Sep/2003:01:27:31 +0100] "GET /newebayad/dump3.jpg
HTTP/1.0" 302 231
"http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2432951060"
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 4.0)"
I can now trace that IP address which happens NOT to reside on a dial-up
service but in a government department - My guess the programmer on night
shift.
Wait till his Boss comes in tomorrow !!
or ....... putting on my other hat ........
