Actually what I did was the following:
cp /usr/lib/apache/php/mysql.so /usr/lib/apache/php/mysql.so.orig
cp /usr/src/php-4.3.3/modules/mysql.so /usr/lib/apache/php/mysql.so
This seems to have resolved the problem.
After looking at the problem for a little while I performed the following:
>find / -name "mysql.so" -exec ls -l {} \;
and it returned the the 2 files above. I noticed that the /usr/src/php-
4.3.3/modules/mysql.so file seemed to be the new compiled driver
while /usr/lib/apache/php/mysql.so was what the webserver was configured to
use.
Thanks for your help.
