Re: [cobalt-users] Mailscanner

These instructions are very good, I used them several months ago to install the three applications and all is working well. With all these recent viruses you sure need these things running!

I see that most of the apps have had quite a few new version releases, anyone know what happens if I just follow the instructions again - using the updated versions of the install files? Will my system break, or be upgraded?

Thanks,

Rob

Is there a pkg for a Raq550?

John

Actually, you can use the instructions to at
http://www.qitc.net/support/mailscanner/ to install MailScanner for the 550 as well. This is done via SSH or Telnet and is very straightforward to do. It takes about 10-20 minutes to do a complete install, and then a couple
more to modify the config file to your liking.

The only thing I would add is to mv /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail to
sendmail.old and then cp /etc/rc.d/init.d/MailScanner to
/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail. This is so that the Cobalt stuff restarts
MailScanner for you in event it thinks sendmail is dead rather than
restarting sendmail without MailScanner.
