[cobalt-users] weird email smtp problem

My email server has been running perfectly since the spam modifications were
installed. Starting today, I received reports from several of the users that
they cannot send mail any more. When I run top, it shows several sessions of
sendmail occurring at times. So upon checking, I found some users had no
problems sending email, while others did. I did find out that verizon
stopped allowing sendmail relaying, so all my clients that are on verizon
have to use their verizon sendmail. I'm wondering if others are following.
Also, the users that are having the problem are not reporting a mail relay
error. They are reporting a timeout, could not connect to the server error.
Is there any better way to make sure sendmail is running properly?
