I'm not running any filtering or DNS Black Lists. The sendmail has never
been changed until the other day because of problems, so it has been using
the configuration it came with.
How do you go about removing the webalizer/analog scripts?
Thanks,
Kathy

Hi...
Had this problem on a old raq4 box (in production use since
year 2000 or so). It happens at almost the same time every single
day, we tried to change the sendmail.conf file so that the
mail daemon shuts down at a higher load, etc but to no avail.
until...
The high load coincides with the webalizer/analog scripts' attempt
to generate the web log data. I guess the problem was due to the
large amount of logs we had, so we deleted everything from year 2000
to 2002. Leaving only the current years' worth of log files around.
So far, the problem has not happened again. However, this might
not apply for your case, it's just something that happened, and
we don't own that many cobalt boxes to be able to generalize this
problem/solution/finding. :)
Regards.
