You might want to check out the /sbin/lcd-write program. This gets called during boot-up in the file
/etc/rc.d/init.d/lcd-showip
This gets the hostname from the 'hostname' command.
See if typing hostname on the command line displays your hostname. If it does,
Try /etc/rc.d/init/lcd-showip
