By default, the user will exist on the system and, therefore, be able to
receive mail if someone sent to that user on that domain if sendmail is
running and configured for the domain. If you want any senders to
receive an error back, then make an entry in sendmail with:
username error:nouser No such user here
in /etc/mail/virtusertable.
