I have always noticed in all my years of administering sendmail, that it
seems to try and tack on the end of an unknown host the local host name
in an attempt to deliver the message. If I could turn this off it may
cure this problem I'm having now.
I installed Bassi's Mailscanner and works great, but I keep getting
these failure messages where it has tried to send the message to sender
which is an unknown host. I turned on the option in Mailscanner to only
do this for local hosts, but since sendmail seems to be tacking on the
local host this is not working. Can someone fill me in on how to handle
these situations?
