er, actually the main problem was my fault (i was uploading the pkg in the
wrong format and it was corrupting).
i did have to reconfigure PHP as Brian's config was a bit different to mine.
other than that, cURL was not compiled with SSL support which i needed but
he fixed this and sent me new RPMs so i assume the package is fixed.
i installed the pkg on a production machine and certainly didn't have any
problems which caused downtime. the only thing you might need to watch for
is the PHP config.
andy
