RE: [cobalt-users] RAID for Cobalt RAQ4i

Yes.. if you have a second onboard IDE channel.

If so add a second drive attached to that controller and reinstall the unit
with RAQ4R O/S.

FYI - The power supply on the Raq4/3's does not have much power output so be
aware that
you may have problems adding a second drive especially if it is a 7200 RPM
drive. I know this
from personal experience and others on the list will likely tell you the
same.

P.S. - I don't think very highly of the software RAID on the Raq4r and have
opted a while
back to go with a hardware RAID that uses two notebook hard drives. It
works flawlessly
and does not have the issue of possibly using to much power to spin up two
newer style
drives. Just my opinion and choice.

Subject: [cobalt-users] RAID for Cobalt RAQ4i

Hi All ,
Since Raq4i has space to add one more secondary hard disk (totally two),
Is it possible to configure RaQ4i to have RAID 1 capability?

Thanks and regards
Ram
