RE: [cobalt-users] Problem after upgrading to Kernel C7 without Kernel C6

You MUST install C6 before C7, even on a "real" 550, or you will be
missing certain files. There is an entry in the sun knowledgebase which
contains an instruction on repairing the damage if you skip C6, which
comes down to downloading 2 sourcepacks and compiling your own patch.

Since SUN chose to completely fuck up the cobalt knowledgebase erm, i
mean: integrate the knowledgebase with sunsolve, i have no link at hand.

Bob.

I am a bit confused about all this. If I install the updates in the
order
shown on the Sun updates page will I have problems on a genuine Raq550.

I have done this with one of my Raq550's and I have had no problems, but
I
do have a couple of 550 raid machines to do.
