Subject: [cobalt-users] 550 kernel updates

was it ever established as to whether the 550 kernel updates C6 and C7
are
ok to install? i believe i saw several people who had problems after
installing them.

Hi Chris,

They seem to be okay... we have one customer running C7 and we haven't
had any problems since the initial install.

Install C6 first and make sure it's installed (uname -a should say
kernel C6), and then install C7. If you experience the disk quota error
when adding users or vsites after installing C7, follow my instructions
here:
http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-users/2003-June/093176.html.

After performing the steps detailed in the above link, we have had no
additional problems with the RaQ550 running C7. We have not upgraded any
of our other RaQ550s.
