Don't panic. It can take ages, depending on how full the disk is.
It's just doing an efsck on the drives. Mine takes about 30 minutes.
If you haven't rebooted for a while, it will take just as long if you do a
controlled reboot. The disks are checked if they haven't been checked for
"too long". I don't know what the definition of too long is :)
