It worked out!
The files you sent (offlist) provided the example and clarification I
needed.

My problem was with adding another vsite subdomain.domain.com.
I overlooked your instruction of adding a user instead.

Your solution in adding a domain.com site user of "subdomain", then config
the /etc/httpd/conf/vhosts/siteNN (domain.com) to add the subdomain's
virtual host container, then add A records in the domain.com's DNS, worked
out smoothly!

  As far as the RaQ is concerned, This solution is NOT a subdomain,
  it is a NEW virtual site, with a different host name.
  Also it will not show up in frontpage as a subdomain.

  Try adding dozens of subdomains using this method and you are
  OUT of virtual sites.
