I too have had this problem on my Raq 4. Te first thing I did was to turn
off the site logging in the control panel of the admin site. This then
removed the hefty site logs from the system folders.
You can also login to the server as the admin and check out what is in the
/var folder that is so large. In my case it was the /var/spool/mail folder,
the httpd spool was so big (after a large mailout) it was causing the server
to crash. We have since staggered the mailout minimizing the amount of
return mail at any one time. This gives the server time to process the
spool files. Seems to work ok.
Just on the logging, as I mentioned above, you can also create a link for
each log, from where your current log file is, into a folder outside of the
/var folder its self. That too will save space on the sys files.
