it depends on the logfile...
The basics are...
cat /dev/null > logfilename
and restart the service (depends on the service too)

It just so happens I have been running my own consulting company for over 10
years now...  I do this full time...  My rates can be as low as $6.25 us for
a repair and I have what I like to call the worlds largest collection of
rpms for the Raq4 and the Raq2 (most all are based on redhat 9)
