Replace the failed drive. The OS will recognize & re-mirror, primary -vs-
secondary never mattered when we have had failures. and we have had way too
MANY!!
Keep in mind, there is a known "RAID resync" bug with the Raq550 that has
been know to report failed drives when that was not actually the case... It
also causes the system to fall into a re-sync, Reboot, re-sync, Reboot loop.
I have had 6 of the Dual 80gb Raq550 servers need drive replacements in the
past year.
I no longer offer them, I have downgraded most all of our Dual 80gb systems
to single drive systems between customers.

When replacing a HD in a 550 due to drive failure, does it matter if the new
drive is in the primary (near front panel) or secondary position?
The supposed failed drive is drive 1.
It's RAID 1, so I figure the 550 will recognize the new HD and mirror to it,
but don't know if primary vs. secondary position matters.
Thoughts?
