If your only experience with a GUI is cobalt then I can understand this
reasoning, but having used the ensim, I know the value. It is not just the
GUI, but the added security. Ensim allows you to chroot each virtual host
into a 'jailed' environment where they cant access any other hosts. This
also means that they can all name their users 'joe' if they like because
each host has its own /etc/passwd file and names dont conflict. PHP runs in
separate cgi processes so one site cant bring them all down. There are
numerous other security features that would take me months to work out
myself if I had to use a plain *nix box. A good webhost GUI can not only
save you hundreds of hours but ensure much more security/stability of your
system.

I have to agree, though, that cobalt is falling way behind in this area and
is rapidly becoming worthless.
