Take a null modem cable with you and access it through the serial port. 
You should be able to log in that way.

I believe the settings are 115.2 Kbuad, no parity, no handshake, 8 
data, 1 stop bit using Hyperterminal. Use Minicom if you've got a *nix 
box.
