Try this: http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-users/2003-May/091217.html I can't say if it works or not. A few things to be careful of:1. /etc/named is a symlink to /var/lib/named/ so you can't make a backup by doing cp -R /etc/named /etc/namedBAK -- this just copies the symlink.
2. If you are using RaqBackup.sh to backed the named directory you can't use /etc/named, you must set the extra directory setting in RaqBackup.sh to /var/lib/named.
3. It seems there is a database of the DNS records somewhere, but I can't figure out where. I once accidentially deleted all the content of the /var/lib/named directory. To recover the directory I just used the dnsimport.pl tool (the script that will take raq4R records and import them into a 550) and it rebuilt ALL the records (even the ones that weren't in the original 4R records file).
Best of luck and let us know how it goes. Brian. At 10:27 AM 5/29/2003 +0200, you wrote:
Hi, I need to change the TTL for all the domains in the DNS Server. Is it possible to do that automatical? Something like a find and replace command? Because if that is not possible I need to change 500 domains manual. :S Perry _____________________________________ cobalt-users mailing list cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe/unsubscribe, or to SEARCH THE ARCHIVES, go to: http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-users
