Re: [cobalt-users] msql.so

Thanks for the suggestion... It's not even mentioned in php.ini "UNIX extensions
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Dynamic Extensions ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; if you wish to have an extension loaded automaticly, use the
; following syntax:  extension=modulename.extension
; for example, on windows,
; extension=msql.dll
; or under UNIX,
; extension=msql.so
; Note that it should be the name of the module only, no directory information
; needs to go here.  Specify the location of the extension with the extension_dir directive abov$

;UNIX Extensions
;extension=interbase.so
extension=pgsql.so
extension=i18n.so
extension=cce.so

I would like to upgrade but until I'm a little more comfortable with Linux I'll wait, this is the standard set up I received with a new 550 box... aside from patches directly from Sun...

I did find this in my search for a solution... make any sense? I'm groping in the dark here :)

Configure your Virtual Server web server to dynamically load the PHP4 Apache module. Add the following line to the top of your Virtual Server web server configuration file (~/www/conf/httpd.conf). Substitute the file name of the Apache module you want to install for FILE-NAME.
LoadModule  php4_module  modules/FILE-NAME
These PHP4 modules are available:
No database support
mod_php4-4.0.4-module.so
mod_php4-4.0.4-module-ftp-imap-freetype-gd.so

msql.so won't do anything in your configuration.
You should comment out the "extension=msql.so" line in your php.ini
file.

You should also upgrade PHP.
