I'm running OpenSSL 0.9.7b so i would be possible.
Would thiis do it:
./configure
- --prefix=/home/mysql
- --localstatedir=/home/mysql/data
- --disable-maintainer-mode
- --with-mysqld-user=mysql
- --enable-large-files
- --without-comment
- --without-debug
- --without-bench
- --with-vio
- --with-openssl
