[cobalt-users] Sendmail dies unexpectedly with error0 "sendmail dead but subsys locked"

I've just changed the IP address on my XTR to migrate it to another subnet.
After moving the box sendmail has starting hanging. I get the following
error when I check status.

[root /root]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail status
sendmail dead but subsys locked

Anyone else seen this occur or have ideas on what may be happening?
