[cobalt-users] mySQL performance?

Howdy guys,

I found (somewhere and I forgot where) a discussion about the performance of
vBulletin on a RAQ4.
Now.. It was regarding mySQL taking too much of the system resources...
They mentioned running it in persistant connections mode...
Now,
1) what exactly is it
2) pros?
3) cons?
4) when DO this, when DONT?
