This is just for general info to get it into the
archive in case someone comes across this - if the CMU
dev is here to see this all the better :)
2.27 seems to behave strangely when a dot (.) is in
the username - ie if the user is my.name or such
there'll be a few problems migrating them -
1. the users mailbox will be given one of the other
mailboxes ownership (ie, someone else's user/group)
2. the /users/my.name/mail directory also gets the
incorrect permissions as above.
this manifests in the maillog as:
procmail[1984]: Couldn't rename bogus
"/home/sites/sitexx/../../spool/mail/user.name" into
"/var/spool/mail/BOGUS.user.name.n1"
procmail[10070]: Couldn't rename bogus
"/home/sites/sitexx/../../spool/mail/user.name" into
"/var/spool/mail/BOGUS.user.name.n1"
procmail[19349]: Couldn't rename bogus
"/home/sites/sitexx/../../spool/mail/user.name" into
"/var/spool/mail/BOGUS.user.name.n1"
It's a simple fix if you've come across the problem
after CMUing, just put in the correct
ownership/permissions to 1&2 above.
