go into your config.inc.php file in the phpmyadmin directory vi the file (or editor of your choice) and look for the following line$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'cookie'; // Authentication method (config, http or cookie based)?
If you set it to COOKIE then it will ask for the username/password. That's what i did for my servers, i placed the newest version in /home/phpMyAdmin, setup cookie authentication, and then set an alias so ANY domain on the server can get to it by using www.whateverdomainipick.net/phpMyAdmin

Call me an idiot, but I have forgotten how to setup phpmyadmin so it asks for a username and password before it displays the gui. I just installed the 2.3.3 pkg on a newly restored server and when I go to phpmyadmin it just takes me directly to the gui. Before I had it setup and it would ask you for the username and password. Do I need to setup a .htaccess file? _____________________________________ cobalt-users mailing list cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe/unsubscribe, or to SEARCH THE ARCHIVES, go to: http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-users
