That sounds like a great fix if you need it, however on one of our RAQ4's
when I got the same error trying to install this same PKG a trawl through
ALL the logs (probably adm_error finally) revealed that the reason for the
error was that there were duplicate entries in the virtusertable at line xxx
So a quick trip to the virtusertable file and locate the relevant entries
and delete them, re-install the PKG file and hey presto we have the 16402 in
the installed software list.
This worked for me on this particular server.
The problem with this install failing is that you get a silly little message
in the gui telling you of the error and just as you notice it (if you happen
to be looking at the screen) it disappears!! and you wonder why the PKG file
you just installed does not show up on the installed software list, then you
try again thinking that the upload has failed.
The logs are your friend and told me where the problem lay to solve it
quickly.
I am not saying that this fix will not work, as I am sure it does, just that
it may not be needed in all cases.
Cheers
Paul.
