[cobalt-users] help server down (strange)

Hi all

Got a big problem, (all problems are usually big :))

Got a raq4 running yesterday the raq started sending mails

like:

Over the past fifteen minutes, the CPU has been heavily loaded.

This will result in noticeable performance loss.  Consider moving some of
the
Services to other Cobalt servers, or reduce the complexity of the CGI
Scripts running on the Cobalt server itself.

1 minute load average:	44.57
5 minute load average:	53.15
15 minute load average:	36.13

and

Memory on the Cobalt server is heavily used.
The Cobalt server needs more memory than it currently has.
Consider adding more DRAM to the server.

Total memory is:	259572 KB
Used memory is:	252228 KB
Free memory is:	7344 KB
Percent used is:	97

After that I got the last message
The DNS server appears to be down.  Within the Cobalt server Control Panel,
try turning the service off and then on again to see if this corrects the
problem.  If not, try rebooting the server itself.  If this still does not
correct the problem, contact Cobalt Technical Support.



I tried to enter the admin gui that dit not work

I can ftp, mail and telnet.

So I treid to reboot

By tel net su as root and dit /sbin/shutdown -r now

Te server did not show me if it did a reboot I got the promt directly

Can any one help me?

How can I do en new reboot? And a good one?

Or how can I restart the DNS server by telnet?

Please some help!
