Most likely the serial port on your laptop/PC is ttyS0 (COM1 in
DOS/Windows) or ttyS1 (COM2).
Also make sure you're using a null modem cable and not a plain serial cable
- - the transmit/receive pair needs to be "flipped" for a direct connection
between the two systems.
