Hi!
We have a client which wants to register a .com domain
name with this character ( ø ) in its name. But my GUI
says that it's not a valid domain name.
So, is it valid and the GUI has a bug or it's not
valid?
The conversion from nordic (and all other available) caracters
will with this new system be done in the user's browser. This
means that the browser will be translating the domain
blåbersyltetøy.no
(blaabaersyltetoey.no for those that do not have nordic caractersets)
to
xn--blbrsyltety-y8ao3x.no
That will be the domain you will be using in your dns and web-server.
In short: The cobalt will handle this without problems, but it will
be pretty ugly to work with.
