Thanks for the package.log details. I looked at mine but it only gave the
message that it had already been installed.

I then decided to uninstall it.
Look at the log - all seemed fine
Reinstall it and look at the log

[root .swupdate]# pwd
/home/tmp/.swupdate


[root .swupdate]# cat package.log

I'm happy now - I can see it with rpm and with the GUI.

And for what its worth 

-r-sr-xr-x    1 root     mail       373212 Mar 28 20:21 /usr/sbin/sendmail

Shows a much better and sensible date - the other must be the Sun date from
16402
