The libraries are usually located at /usr/lib

Recompilation of Webalizer 2 is very straightforward, it has
requirements on zlib and libgd (with libpng & libjpeg) . If you have
already set up PHP 4.3 you probably already have most of the appropriate
requirements in place. You may be able to get away without recompiling
and using the precompiled (not statically linked) version of webalizer
from here:

ftp://ftp.mrunix.net/pub/webalizer/webalizer-2.01-10-linuxelf-x86-bin.tg
z

There is only the one binary file needed to run webalizer so you can
just move it to where your existing webalizer binary is, then install
the help file if required.
