Surprisingly, there is not much that I can find on this in the archives,
I get 'RPM failure on RaQ2' when searching '7200 RPM', nothing about
7200 in the post.
I have a couple of 40GB 7200 RPM drives in a test 3i machine right now,
also with a 500MHz processor. Covers on and I'll let it sit for the
weekend to see if we get any heat problems. However, until it hits
production, there's no big way to be sure no problems will come. I've
seen a post here before that someone was using 7200 RPM drives, but no
status or history remarks. I remember posts from a year or more ago
saying they would heat you up. Of course, seen many with 30GB+ drives,
but not sure if those are 5400 or can you get that for those. Thanks to
Bruce about revisions needed regarding another issue posted here as 'New
install resorting to previous install', the drives wouldn't even
recognize more than 5.5GB until the revision updates were done.
Anyway...has anyone tried what I'm testing here in a production
environment?
