If I have it correct it is defined in /etc/mail/local-host-names

I do not know if you can change that file directly, or if you change it how
it is read into the configuration.  You can try changing it, then going to
the smtp server and stop and start it.

Unfortunately this doesn't work as well. This is so strange! looks like
a major software flaw to me.
maybe i can actually change the config file via telnet? can anybody
tell me which file it is concerning?
