You know I am seeing the same thing all of the sudden.. Last night is when
mine started and all I could find in the logs was this message:
/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is
readable
Does anyone have any idea's what this could be? Could it of been the
Sendmail patch? I installed that last week from Pkgmaster.com and I had no
issues to report right after install and reboot.
Thank You,
Matt

Subject: [cobalt-users] RAQ4i Crashes Weekly
Hi All,
The last two Wednesdays, in the early morning hours, my RAQ4i server
(that's been running like a charm for 3 years) suddenly locked up.
The front panel buttons won't do anything. I can't telnet into it,
connection is refused/closed. Web and Email services are locked up.
I could only turn off the power switch on the back to get it to
reboot.
When I rebooted last week it seemed to take a long time (about 10
minutes) to clear the DISK DRIVE ACCESS start-up procedure, although
this morning this only took a minute or so.
I was suspecting that the hard drive, or some other hardware might be
on the fritz, but with my Wintel servers when hardware fails its not
on a schedule.
When going through the forums on Cobalt I see references to RAQ3's
having similar issues. And something about a upgrade patch being bad.
Last week, Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, I was upgrading my server with
all the latest patches from Cobalt. But that was AFTER the crash.
Also I was re-installing MySQL and trying to get MyPHPAdmin working
(not successful yet!!).
I was considering installing a new hard drive (a 40 gb one) to
replace the internal 20gb one but realized I'd have to also do a
complete system restore and..... I'm just hoping that I don't need to
do this for a while.
If anyone has anything to suggest on this problem I'd appreciate it.
More than 1/2 of my hosting clients come due for renewal at the end
of April. If I'm going to have trouble now is the time to move them
(to another server or to a new hosting service).
Thanks
Paul

Retreat to advance. Sometimes the most important and urgent thing we
can do is get away to a peaceful and quiet place.
