Okay. So basically what you are saying is to use your script to do
the backups then if I needed to do a complete restore all I'd have
to do is untar the backups? All users/options/emails/settings, etc.
etc. would magically come back?
My script starts a full backup on Sunday. Then incremental backups
after that. So, on Monday, it just "tars" up any modified files.
Tuesday, etc. So, one would surmise that to do a restore, start with
the last full backup, and untar each day as need be. Simple Concept!
Which fails to address the issue of restoring an entire server, users,
quotas, settings, files, and all onto a bare machine. Which is, if I
understand correctly, what folks are after. Like CMU does for the RaQ4.
