David,
Have you looked at Mojo Mail? Requires Perl 5 and sendmail or qmail (and
mySQL/Postgres if you want to store your data in a db as opposed to flat
files, which I recommend.)
Installation was a snap and the feature set is quite good. It can be set
up as announcement-only or discussion mode. It won't affect your existing
Majordomo installation, either.
The developer is also very helpful and responds to questions relatively
quickly.
