We restored a lot of systems for people. Since this overwrites every
site, I hope you have a good backup.
Here's what you need to do:
1. If you don't already have a CMU backup, make one. Even though the
site contents will be worthless, it'll save you having to create all new
users and sites. Using the raqbackup script is probably a great idea if
you also have MySQL databases.
2. If possible, put your RaQ on the net behind a NATted firewall.
3. Update the RaQ to all the latest patches, including the latest
Sendmail patch (we use the one from SolarSpeed). We also recommend the
"RaQ Security Package" available either from us or from SolarSpeed.
4. Remove the RaQ from behind the firewall and put it back on the net
where it belongs. Change the IP# for the main site to the correct one.
5. Restore the CMU/backup. If necessary rebuild or restore any other
software you had installed on your RaQ.
6. If you didn't have a good backup of the sites, rebuild all the sites.
Be sure to implement a good backup system. We've installed weekly
backups on all the systems we had to rebuild. Some systems should be
backed up even more often.
