Greetings,
Is there anything on the market that has been
tested which would allow you to pull the log files
for monitoring without going through them manually?
Something like Webalizer, or some script/utility
that would pull the logs for viewing in a reasonably
organized manner?
I know this is somewhat possible with things
like Webmin, etc. but most of those seem to have
bugs or constant security holes. If not that, they
end up allowing access to certain functions that
shouldn't be easily available or change things in
such a way the basic GUI from Cobalt starts to
eliminate or incorrectly display information.
Any thoughts or opinions? We're training
a new employee to monitor these things as part of
overall duties and I'd rather idiot-proof the
process as much as possible and reduce the training
and comprehension time of doing it the hard way.
TIA!
