[cobalt-users] Mysterious Email Client Problem.. Raq4r



Hoping some one may be able to shed some light on a problem that only one of
our customers seems to be experiencing on our Raq4r.

What is happening is that only a scattered few (3 or 4 out of 50) of their
total user base are suddenly having a problem downloading email to Outlook
or Outlook Express.

Webmail is working fine for everyone!!

The error that they get from Outlook is basically stating that the server
timed out while trying to download messages.  While watching the server via
SSH I have witnessed the server indicate a time out as well.

Would errors like this be an indicator of not enough bandwidth at the Co-Lo?
or possibly something else??  Would the Sendmail problem cause such a
situation?

FYI - The Co-Lo site just switched all of their IP's and have yet by their
own admission gotten the load balancing worked out properly yet.  They
hinted yesterday to being pretty well maxed out without having the load
balancing in proper operation.

FYI - The Co-Lo ISP is also the same ISP for the customer having problems.
The customer has also stated that they have been noticing very sluggish
Internet access over the last few days since the ISP updated their network
and switched IP address's.

I think I've pretty well layed out my belief of what I think the problem is
but would appreciate any one else's thoughts as to possibilities as well.
If you have any advice as to trying to troubleshoot and absolutely determine
the problem.. I'm all ears!!
