Re: [cobalt-users] how much RAM is seen by my RAQ3?

/usr/bin/free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 251 197 53 31 139 21
-/+ buffers/cache: 37 214
Swap: 127 5 122

The first number here (251) is the amount of physical ram in Mb (-m)

Gregz.

Hi all,

I upgraded the RAM tonight in my RAQ3i - I had 256Meg and I added a 512Meg module. When you look at the MEMORY #'s in the GUI (system status) it reports an amount that apparently includes virtual memory; whether I had one or both modules in it reports the same #. Is there a command I can run that will tell me the actual physical memory amount that is being seen?

I put in the following 512 meg module in case anyone is interested:
Kingston Value RAM KVR133X64C3/512

It is 512mb PC133 CL3 non-ECC/non-Parity module and it seems to work fine (I had it in by itself to be sure the system recognized it properly before leaving the system with both modules).

Thanks,
Jale
