Just to confirm, you did manaully set the IP on the Cobalt itself after you did the OS restore and power cycled the server ? Do you have a link light on the server / pc / hub you are connecting to ? Do you have a machine onthe same subnet as you set the server ? I have assumed that since the restore got to the end that it had worked. I will now download the files, burn a cd and try again. I have performed this task on RaQ4's before, with no problem, but this RaQ2 has me confused. I have trawled the list archives for days but not found an answer to the problem.Have you tried downloading and using a different disc like one of the Raq2 ISO's on the ftp site? Maybe your CD is bad. I'm assuming you haven't used it successfully on any other Raq2s. ftp://ftp.cobalt.sun.com/pub/iso/ HTH, j
