If I du -sh in root directory, I get this:
# du -sh var
21M var
If I do a df -h, I get this:
# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 726M 599M 127M 83% /
/dev/hda3 194M 188M 6.4M 97% /var
/dev/hda4 17G 2.7G 14G 16% /home
Why the discrepancy? I got the email to admin that /var was getting full,
and I had a mail message bounce this morning because /var was full. When I
look at /var, all I see is about 21M of stuff. I am looking at .files as
well.
Sorry for the newbie question. I searched the archives and could find
nothing directly related to this issue, though there was plenty on /var
full in general. TIA,
=Rob
