[cobalt-users] secure intranet help

Hi all

I have been tasked with sorting out a secure area of a clients website on
our Raq4r.

I am looking at using MYSQL with PHPadmin to create a user/password
database, although I could just use the command line option of the .htaccess
file (any suggestions?).

There will be about 60 staff who all need access to an intranet type site
although over the internet and not internal to their office.
I will use .htacces to authenticate users based on the user/password file.

I know the theory of all this but have not actually done this on our server
before.

Has anyone got a similar system up and running and could give me any
pointers/suggestions to save me re-inventing the wheel.

Also any how to links appreciated for setting up the MYSQL database.
