[cobalt-users] Dummies Guide to DNS needed

Gerald,

The domain SEARCHER.ORG is regisered at godaddy.com. The command line
whois query to whois.internic.net shows that the domain is not there (No match for "SEARCHER.ORG")
while the web http://www.internic.net/whois.html gets the right info from whois.godaddy.com.

It seems that both name servers are still showing the old IP addresses:

NS1.searcher.org. [216.65.142.5] [TTL=172800]
NS2.HISPEED.NET. [209.145.61.254 (NO GLUE)]

check these links:

dig ns1.searcher.org yields 216.65.142.5
dig @NS1.SEARCHER.ORG NS1.SEARCHER.ORG
;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
HISPEED.NET. 2D IN NS NS1.HISPEED.NET.
HISPEED.NET. 2D IN NS NS2.HISPEED.NET.
These nameservers are giving the old address

There is no match for searcher.org in the whois database.
No match for "SEARCHER.ORG".
Do you have searcher.org registeered?
