Hi Robert,

The DNS had all propagated and the registration has been done. nslookup
shows the new address and has done so for the last week

Yes I deleted the contents

Yes I set the TTL to a short time a day before the change and all web
settings are working fine. This is only effecting the mail.
>PS. Did you notify your regsitar of the new dns ips ???
It is also affecting all sites that were previously working and have been
hosted for over 12 months on the same machine.

This domain is not hosted on my server, which was why I thought I might have
been hacked, but it could relate to the DNS settings, the main IP address of
my site was not in the relay for the following Hosts/Domains and when I
went in and edited the proftdp.conf the my old IP address was still in the
list.
Sendmail has crashed a few times
The SMTP (mail) server appears to be down. The mail server may shut itself
down temporarily under extreme load, so you should also check the CPU load
on the server. If the load does not appear to be the problem, try turning
mail service off and then on within the Sun Cobalt server Control Panel to
see if
this corrects the problem. If not, try rebooting the server itself. If
this
still does not correct the problem, contact Sun Cobalt Technical Support.
When I restart sendmail it shuts down OK but takes a while restart.
Any further help greatly appreciated.
